Recipe II

What you will need:

2 tablespoons shea butter
1 tbsp carnauba wax
2 tablespoons oil (I used sweet almond oil)
15 drops of your favorite essential oil (I used orange)
Teaspoonsa vitamin E
Optional:
Dried flower petals

Bowl
Pot
Silicone mold

Preparation:

In both recipes the preparation is almost identical, the only different thing is adding wax. 😉
I start with the preparation of a water bath.
I fill the pot with water and on it I put a bowl, to which I put butter (+ wax).
I set the stove to a low temperature so as not to bring the water to a boil.
When the butter dissolves I add oil and vitamin E.
I mix the ingredients and add essential oil.
Optional:
I put a teaspoon of flower petals in the molds and pour mixture so that it obscures the petals.
I wait until it cools down and pour the rest of the mixture.
In this way, flower petals won’t go to the top of the lotion. 😊
If you don’t use flower petals, you can pour the whole mass into a mold.
Now I put the lotions for 24 hours in the refrigerator and after that time they’re ready to use. You can use lotions about 6 months. It’s best to store them in a can/ container so that they don’t dust and dissolve.

Do you use lotion bar?

Vegan Hair Dye Herbatint FF3 Plum

If you like cosmetics with natural composition, today's review will surely interest you. Herbatint hair dye once appeared on the blog when I described shade ash blonde. Thanks to my mom, Today I prepared for you a review of the color FF3 Plum.

Manufacturer's description:

No ammonia, parabens, rheorcin, heavy metals, alcohol, SLS, gluten.

The recipe is based on herbal extracts and proteins, ammonia harmful to hair tissue has been replaced with rosemary, quinoa and walnut shell to gently release the dye. Strongly reduced chemical components make Tea  intethete suitable for people prone to allergies and people paying special attention to the safety and good condition of the hair.

It doesn’t destroy hair, gives a natural glow and shine.

The packaging of the paint is simple and minimal, you can see on it a shade of dye, a sign about the lack of gluten, fsc certificate and peta bunny. In the box you find a tube with coloring cream, a bottle of emulsion, conditioner, shampoo, gloves instructions.

Vegan Hair Dye Herbatint FF3 Plum
The hair dye has a gel texture that is easily distributed. It is efficient (my mom uses up one pack for long hair), has a delicate composition and doesn’t irritate the scalp.
After rinsing the dye, the hair are soft and doesn’t tangle.

Vegan Hair Dye Herbatint FF3 Plum
Before & After

The dye covers gray hair well and the color persists well on them. The color  after dyeing is slightly darker, but over time it will wash out. The effect usually lasts for about 1-2 months. Red pigments have it to themselves that they more easily wash out of the hair, so I think it's a very good result.  The hair is shiny and smooth, the dye hasn’t dried or destroyed them.

What hair dye do you use?

10 things we don't buy anymoore

06 February

rawpixel

Recently, we talked with Patrick about the ecological changes that we have implemented and what else we can improve. By the way, we touched on the topic of healthy minimalism and came up with an idea for an interesting post. Today we will tell you about 10 things we don't buy anymoore. We hope this article will inspire you to make small changes! 😊

Newspaper

Newspapers and colorful magazines were once very popular, but in the age of the Internet they go into oblivion. We definitely prefer to read articles on websites than to buy a newspaper, which we will read once and throw away. An additional plus of online articles is quick access to information that will pass some time before they are printed.

Plastic shopping bags

When we go shopping, we take a cotton bag from the closet, in which we keep other bags. We put it always in the same place, which quickly became our habit. If you are shopping by car it is worth having a few bags  in the trunk. We also try to have one net in a backpack or bag, you never know if it won’t be useful.  ðŸ˜Š

rawpixel

New clothes

We rarely buy clothes, usually as they break down and can no longer be fixed. As a rule, we exchange clothes with friends or buy clothes second hand. We try to choose good quality materials (mostly cotton and linen) and make the best of taking care of clothes.

Jewelry

Iwear too much jewelry, and my collection is quite modest. I like to focus on quality and minimalism. My jewelry is versatile, so I can combine it into different sets, suitable for any occasion, and that's enough for me.

rawpixel

CDs (Movies, Games, Music)

We haven’t had any DVD or CD drives for a long time. All games and songs, we buy on dedicated platforms (Steam,  Spotify,  etc.).  And we watch movies on HBO GO, Amazon Prime or Netflix.

rawpixel

Tv

We have a TV at home, but not a cable. As we wrote earlier movies and series we watch on HBO GO, etc. This is a much cheaper solution, and in addition, we can also use it on a computer or tablet. You can subscribe to these platforms for as long as you want, we change subscriptions depending on the premier series. 😊

rawpixel

Book

We usually rent books from the library or read ebooks. Libraries in Gdansk are well equipped and often have new, popular titles. Sometimes we also get books as a gift, these are readings for which we know that we’ll reach more than once.

Drinks in plastic bottles

We have glass and metal bottles at home, which we always take with us to work, for lectures or for a walk. On colder days, we pour warm tea or coffee into them and in summer usually filtered water. Not only is this ecological solution very economical. Buying water every day in a plastic bottle on average seems 30-60 pln per month!

Takeaway coffee

It doesn't take a long time to make coffee at home, and it will save you standing in line. In addition, it’s much cheaper and beneficial for the environment. We definitely prefer to go from the café to a social meeting, than to receive hot coffee on the run.

Cosmetic cotton swashes

I replaced the cosmetic swathes. They are used the same, they are equally gentle on the skin, and after use it’s enough to wash them in a washing machine. In addition, I use a makeup remover cloth, which washing off makeup with water or you can use it like a muslin cloth after cleansing the complexion with oils.

Without what items do you get around?

Dorota & Patryk 😊
