Good vegan concealer and foundation from drugstore - Catrice One Drop Coverage & HD Liquid Coverage

Today I come to you with a review of a new concealer from Catrice - One Drop Coverage. Most often I like to combine it with HD Liquid Coverage also from Catrice. These cosmetics are not tested on animals and they are vegan.

Catrice, One Drop Coverage

Catrice, One Drop Coverage Weightless

What the producer says:

One drop is all that your skin needs: a durable, sweat-proof concealer provides an intense covering effect and has an extremely light consistency. Just one drop is enough to get the full covering effect. At the same time, thanks to the content of hyaluronic acid, its formula moisturizes the skin. The product is available in 4 shades.

Catrice, One Drop Coverage

Ingredients:

Dimethicone, AQUA (WATER), POLYMETHYLSILSESQUIOXANE, Glycerin, PEG-10 Dimethicone, BORON nitride, Butylene Glycol, METHYL TRIMETHICONE, Acrylates / Dimethicone Copolymer, Dimethicone / Vinyl Dimethicone CROSSPOLYMER, PEG / PPG-18/18 dimethicone, sodium chloride, Caprylyl Dimethicone ETHOXY GLUCOSIDE, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, sodium hyaluronate, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, TRIETHOXYCAPRYLYLSILANE, Disteardimonium HECTORITE, TRIETHYL CITRATE, TETRASODIUM glutamate diacetate, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, SODIUM HYDROXIDE, PHENOXYETHANOL, Potassium sorbate, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, CI 77491 (iron oxides), CI 77492 (iron oxides) , CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE).

Catrice, One Drop Coverage

My opinion:

The concealer has a small, glass jar with a pipette. It’s very similar to the foundation.

Despite the watery consistency, the product has quite good coverage, but I wouldn’t call it full. To cover the dark circles under the eyes I usually apply two layers of concealer. The cosmetic has a light consistency, even when we apply it more. It doesn’t dry the skin under the eyes and looks very natural. After applying the concealer, I always powder my face and I didn’t notice that the product emphasized wrinkles under the eyes. However, at the end of the day it exposes them and requires corrections.

The only drawback that this corrector has oxidation. There are 8 shades available. The color 010 is light, but unfortunately after a few minutes it darkens and I can’t use it without the white foundation mixer.
The concealer costs about 4-5 and its capacity is 7ml. Despite the watery consistency, the cosmetic is very efficient. Usually I use only 2 drops of the product.
Catrice HD Liquid Coverage

What the producer says:

Second Skin. HD Liquid Coverage foundation is a smoothed complexion with a high definition effect. Extremely light formula, which is applied with a pipette, offers high coverage and stays on the skin for up to 24 hours. The skin looks impeccable, and at the same time, the foundation does not feel on the skin. The skin is ready for the lights of the jupiter and being in the center of the camera!

Ingredients:

AQUA (WATER), DIMETHICONE, TALC, PEG-10 DIMETHICONE, TRIMETHYLSILOXYSILICATE, POLYPROPYLENE, ISODODECANE, CETYL PEG / PPG-10/1 DIMETHICONE, NYLON-12, HDI / TRIMETHYLOL HEXYLLACTONE CROSSPOLYMER, SODIUM CHLORIDE, HYDROGEN DIMETHICONE, GLYCERIN, MAGNESIUM SULFATE , DISTEARDIMONIUM HECTORITE, METHICONE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SILICA, ALUMINUM HYDROXIDE, PROPYLENE CARBONATE, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, SODIUM DEHYDROACETATE, PHENOXYETHANOL, BENZOIC ACID, PARFUM (FRAGRANCE), CI 77491 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77492 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77499 (IRON OXIDES), CI 77891 (TITANIUM DIOXIDE).

My opinion:

About this foundation I mentioned in the post with favorites and it is still my favorite product in this category. 😉

This foundation really provides the effect of a second skin but it also has very good coverage. It has a watery consistency like a concealer and is also not noticeable on the skin. The foundation has a matte finish, but thanks to the pipette it can be easily lightened white mixer. Unfortunately, if you have a light complexion you will have to combine this foundation with brightener. The lightest shade is 010 Light Beige, which oxidizes quite strongly.

Despite the fact that I have a dry complexion, the product doesn’t emphasize dry skin or dry it. I usually put it on a glowy base or spray it with a fixer. This cosmetic lasts a long time on the skin and is very efficient. And for 30 ml, you will pay about 6.
Kobo Professional, White Brightener Mix

In turn, the white mixer that I use is Kobo Professional, White Brightener Mix. I also mentioned it in the post with the favorites. I still think it's a good brightener. It’s highly pigmented and doesn’t change the foundation coverage.

I think it’s worth paying attention to these products. Once before I used vegan cosmetics I liked Catrice Liquid Camouflage, which unfortunately has the beeswax and I think that Correction One Drop Coverage Weightless can easily be its deputy.

e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette – Makeup palette for pale skin tones

When I was in Canada recently, I saw a face makeup palette from e.l.f. I have never used cosmetics from e.l.f. but I have heard very good opinions about them. It’s a company that doesn’t test on animals and has a lot of products for vegans in its offer. This palette has a light, delicate shade of bronzer and subtle shades of blushes, so I thought it would be perfect for my fair complexion. If you are interested in how it works and whether it will be a good palette for pale people, I invite you to the next part of the blog post.
e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette

What the producer says:

This three-in-one e.l.f. Cosmetics Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette with a bronzer, highlighter, and two blushes creates a flawless look that's beautiful and natural looking. The lightweight silky formula is perfect for sculpting and adding soft, natural looking dimension to the face. With a mixture of complementary matte and shimmer finishes, you can achieve a professional look every time.

Ingredients:

Talc, Mica, Magnesium Stearate, Dimethicone, PTFE, Boron nitrate, Kaolin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Tridecyl Trimellitate, Phenoxyethanol, Caprylyl Glycol May Contain: Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891, Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Manganese Violet (CI 77742), Red 40 Lake (CI 16035), Red 7 Lake (CI 15850)

Cruelty free and vegan.

My opinion:

The palette has a nice silver packaging in a minimalist style. In the middle you will find quite a big mirror and 4 powders (2 roses, bronzer and highlighter). Powders have a velvety formula with a delicate pigmentation that can be built. It’s an ideal product for people who have a pale complexion or are learning how to do makeup. They blend in well with the skin and if you expect a stronger effect with a few layers, they don’t look bad.

e.l.f. Beautifully Bare Natural Glow Face Palette

Bronzer has a light shade with warm tones. It’s matte, but it isn’t a flat mat. It looks very healthy on the skin.
Blushes have subtle, light shades. Both have peach tones. One is brighter and pinky, while the other is a little darker and muted. They are also matte, but they look healthy and glowy on the face.
The  highlighter is the only product I have something to complain about. It isn’t bad, but it has a fairly dark hue and, unfortunately that’s visible on my skin. Perhaps I will use it more often in summer, but it gives a rather subtle effect and looks best when applied applied with a wet brush.

I think that this palette is worth trying, especially by people who have a pale complexion and find it difficult to find light products for contouring and warming the face. However, I’m not satisfied with the selection of the highlighter's shade and I would prefer a lighter color chosen for the palette.

The price of the pallet is 8$. I bought my palette in Winners for 5 CAD.

Eco cleaning - simple recipes for home cleaning products | Zero Waste

Eco cleaning products are safe for children and for us, they don’t pollute the environment and those made at home are much cheaper than shop chemistry. In this post, I will share with you a few recipes for basic cleaning products such as: furniture, glass or bathroom spray.

 Spray for glass:

• 400 ml of warm water
• 2 tablespoons of vinegar
• 2 tablespoons of isopropyl alcohol
• 1 tablespoon of corn starch
• 10 drops of essential oil

Preparation:

Add starch to the water. Mix. Add the rest of the ingredients to water with starch and mix.

Usage:

Spray onto the glass surface and wipe with a cloth or paper.

All purpose spray:

• 400 ml of warm water
• 2 tablespoons of vinegar
• 1 teaspoon of borax
• 10 drops of essential oil

Preparation:

Preparing in gloves. Add ingredients to water and mix.

Usage:

Pour the liquid on the chosen surface and rub with a cloth or sponge and rinse.

Furniture spray:

• 400 ml of warm water
• 3-4 tablespoons of vinegar
• 1 tablespoon of glycerine
• 10 drops of essential oil

Preparation:

Add ingredients to water and mix.

Usage:

Pour the liquid onto the selected surface and rub with a cloth.

Bathroom cleaning liquid:

• 400 ml of warm water
• 2 tablespoons of Castilian soap
• 1 tablespoon of baking soda
• 10 drops of essential oil

Preparation:

Add ingredients to water and mix.

Usage:

Pour the liquid on the chosen surface and rub with a cloth or sponge and rinse.

Drain cleaner:

• ½ glass of borax
• 2 cups of hot water

Preparation:

Preparing in gloves. Add borax to water and mix.

Usage:

Use in gloves! Pour the mixture into the clogged siphon. After 15 minutes, rinse with plenty of water.

Essential oils for cleaning

Which essential oils to choose:

Lavender oil
Lemon oil (poisonous for cats)
Orange oil
Grapefruit oil
Rosemary oil
Peppermint oil
Eucalyptus oil
Clove oil
Tea tree oil (poisonous for cats)

These oils have antibacterial and antiseptic properties.

Of course, you can combine oils to get an interesting smell.
The combination of lavender with lemon and rosemary gives a fresh, herbal scent.
A clove with orange has a beautiful spicy scent.
Orange and lemon combined with grapefruit have a fresh, citrus scent perfect for summer.
Mint oil with eucalyptus smells like sweet mints.
And eucalyptus oil with lemon will bring a breath of freshness to your home.

Although these products are ecological, we should save our hands and clean in gloves. Ingredients such as citric acid or borax aren’t as harmful as chlorine or chemistry contained in some cleaning products, but can irritate the skin.

For storing these spray cleanrs, I recommend using Ikea sprinklers (they are very cheap and durable), and if you avoid plastic, you can use glass bottles with a narrow neck and try to match them to the sprinklers on the means that you used.
I used atomizers after the spray from Frosh and matched them to the apple vinegar bottles.

Eco-friendly laundry - recipe for washing powder, fabric softener, washing crystals | Zero waste

Eco clothing washing - recipe for washing powder, fabric softener, washing crystals | Zero waste

In today's post, I will show you some recipes for eco washing powder, fabric softener, washing crystals and stain remover. I have used all of these products for several months and have replaced washing liquids for good. For their preparation I use easily accessible ingredients that are safer for our skin and the environment. I invite you to the rest of the post! 😉
Washing powder recipe Zero Waste

Washing powder for white clothes:

Ingredients:
Borax - ½ cup
Soda ash - ½ cup
Sodium percarbonate - ½ cup
Soap flakes - 1-2 tablespoons
(you can replace them with gritty gray soap)

Preparation:
In gloves, I mix all the ingredients and pour them into the jar.

Usage:
On the bottom of the washing machine drum I pour 2 spoons of powder.

Washing powder for colorful clothes:

Ingredients:
Borax - ½ cup
Soda ash - ½ cup
Soap flakes - 1-2 tablespoons
(you can replace them with gritty gray soap)

Preparation:
In gloves, I mix all the ingredients and pour them into the jar.

Usage:
On the bottom of the washing machine drum I pour 2 spoons of powder.
Fabric Softener Recipe Zero Waste

Fabric softener: (first recipe)

Ingredients:
Warm water - 200 ml
Vinegar - 800 ml
Essential oil - 20 drops

Preparation:
I pour warm water into a glass bottle, add vinegar and essential oil. I mix the ingredients.
What I like the most is the essential oil of lavender or mint. Washing then smells fresh and clean.

Usage:
I pour 4 tablespoons of liquid into the compartment for the rinsing liquid.

Fabric softener: (second recipe)

Ingredients:
Warm water - 70%
Citric acid - 30%
Essential oil - 20 drops

Preparation:
I put Citric acid in a glass bottle and pour it in warm water (I dont use hot water to keep the bottle from breaking). I add the essential oil and shake the bottle to dissolve the acid.

Usage:
I pour 3 tablespoons of liquid into the compartment for the rinsing liquid.

Crystals for washing:

Ingredients:
Sea salt or epsom - 1 ½ cup
Baking soda - ½ cup
Essential oil - 20-30 drops

Preparation:
I mix all the ingredients and put them in a jar.

Usage:
At the bottom of the washing machine drum pour 2-3 tablespoons of crystals.
Attention! Salt and soda can have color-rinsing properties, so it's better to use crystals for bright colors of clothes.

Stain remover:

Sodium percarbonate has whitening properties.
For hand washing, add 2 spoons of percarbonate to 3 liters of water. Dip clothes with stains in solution and wash after 2 hours.

For washing in the washing machine add 2 tablespoons powder and set the washing at 40 degrees.

Several tricks for eco-friendly laundry:

You can reuse jars for making washing powder or softener, for example: a larger jar after cucumbers or  bottles after juice
If you are looking for a good stain remover without plastic, you will find stain removers in bar in the drugstores. They are very efficient and wash the stains well
If you watn to buy cloth clips, the bamboo clips are more ecological than plastic ones
When the weather is nice, use it and hang laundry outside
If you take home your cloth clips after removing the laundry, they will serve you longer

What are your eco washing tricks?

Dorota
